Lok Janshakti Party MP from Hajipur in Bihar, Pashupati Kumar Paras has severed his ties with the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He resigned from the Union Cabinet on Tuesday. LJP MP Pashupati Kumar Paras, who was praising the leadership of PM Narendra Modi till a week ago, has taken this step after being angry with the seat distribution of NDA. On Monday, NDA had distributed 40 seats of Bihar among its constituent parties. In this, his nephew Chirag Paswan was given five seats in the name of Lok Janshakti Party. Both Chirag and Paras wanted to contest from Hajipur and this opportunity was finally given to Chirag, son of late Ram Vilas Paswan.
Paras angry over his own ticket being cut
NDA constituents met on Monday and after that in Delhi itself, Bihar BJP in-charge Vinod Tawde announced the seats along with Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Jha of ruling Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s party Janata Dal United. While announcing the seats, Tawde took the name of Lok Janshakti Party and gave it five seats. Since Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) was already telling that their leader has been promised Hajipur and five tickets to the party, then when this happened, Paras got worried. Paras himself had said in a press conference in Bihar last week that no one had talked to him on the seats. Someone meant BJP. It is believed that after the separation, Paras was left with no option and was forced to resign. In fact, after the death of Ram Vilas Paswan, when the rift between uncle and nephew started, the matter got stuck in Hajipur seat. Both were adamant on this seat and BJP finally placed its hand on Chirag Paswan. Paras got angry due to this.
I was treated unfairly, that’s why I resigned
LJP MP Pashupati Kumar Paras informed the media about his resignation in Delhi on Tuesday. He said that I was working with full honesty and dedication as a soldier of the National Democratic Alliance while holding the post of minister. Last week I had told the press in Bihar that no one had talked to me regarding the seats. I was waiting for the formal announcement from NDA. On Monday, when NDA announced seat sharing, I realized that injustice has been done to me personally and also to my party. Therefore, I have resigned from the post of Union Minister.
BJP still hopeful of meeting Lalu-Tejashwi
Pashupati Kumar Paras will return to Patna on Tuesday evening. Here, the time of his meeting with Rashtriya Janata Dal National President Lalu Prasad Yadav and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav is also being fixed. This meeting is expected to take place around 6 pm. Here, BJP has also not given up hope regarding Paras. State Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said that Prime Minister Modi once gave place to Paras in the Union Cabinet in place of his nephew. Now PM Modi wants to give opportunity to the new generation in Bihar. Apart from this there is nothing. He expressed hope that it is a matter of uncle and nephew and a compromise should be reached.
